Went to London, Took the Dog: An Evening with Nina Stibbe (FROME)

A decade after the publication of the beloved and prize-winning memoir Love, Nina, award-winning author Nina Stibbe is back with a diary of her return to London in her sixty-first year.

Join us for a fabulous event with Nina, as she introduces her new book: Went to London, Took the Dog. Nina will be in conversation with the equally fabulous Sunday Times bestselling author Harriet Evans (Stargazers; Garden of Lost and Found).

Twenty years after leaving the big smoke, Stibbe is back in town this time with her dog, Peggy. Together they take up lodging in the house of writer Deborah Moggach in Camden for ‘a year-long sabbatical’…

Between scrutinising her son’s online dating developments, navigating the politics of the local pool, and taking detergent advice at the launderette, this diary of a sixty-year-old runaway is hilarious, irreverent, joyful and poignant.

Stibbe’s ear and eye are as uniquely sharp as ever on friendship, motherhood, independence, the menopause, branching out and growing up (and at 61, it’s about bloody time!).

Both Nina and Harriet's books will be available to buy at the event and there will be a signing and Q&A afterwards.
